Players can get their first taste of BioWare’s upcoming role-playing epic Mass Effect 3 as early as January.
The studio’s forum has details on the demo, which will feature both the single-player and multiplayer components.
There is one catch: access to multiplayer is available to those who activate the Online Pass for first-person shooter Battlefield 3, out next week.
BioWare does say there will be other avenues for accessing multiplayer, which will be available at a later date. The single-player portion will be open to all players on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
BioWare says they will offer a specific date for the demo’s arrival next month.
Mass Effect 3 marks the debut of a multiplayer mode, letting players team up with three friends to tackle a series of missions that can impact the game’s main story.
Mass Effect 3 launches March 6, 2012.
