Joel McHale (Community), Zachary Knighton (Happy Endings) and Gerald McRaney (Deadwood) have joined the cast of the second season of Netflix’s zombie comedy Santa Clarita Diet starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant.
In the new season, increasing number of murder victims needed to feed Sheila’s undead hunger is starting to get noticed in town. At the same time, the family is trying to figure out the virus’ origin in order to stop its spread.
McHale will play Chris, a Santa Clarita realtor who is married to Christa (Maggie Lawson) and are dubbed “more successful, more aggressive” versions of Joel and Sheila.
McRaney plays Ed Thune, is a retired Army colonel who is intimidated by Joel. Knighton plays Paul, a man with Serbian ancestors who have been tasked with pursuing the truth of the undead – no matter who gets in his way.
The second season premieres on the streaming service sometime this Spring.
