MetroPCS has dropped its lowest-cost “unlimited” LTE wireless phone plan. The no-contract carrier first offered the $40 LTE plan last January. Its lowest price for voice, text, and enhanced LTE data services is now $50 per month.
The no-contract $40 service provided unlimited voice, text, and constrained browsing. Unlimited YouTube was included, however. MetroPCS stopped offering the service in December in conjunction to its no longer selling any non-LTE phones that were not Android-based. The lowest minimum monthly plan is $50. For that price, a user gets unlimited voice, text, email, web, and 1 GB of multimedia streaming. An additional $10 monthly buys the subscriber either unlimited video streaming or access to the music service Rhapsody.
