Director Roland Emmerich is eyeing Fruitvale Station and Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan for a major role in 20th Century Fox’s Independence Day 2, according to TheWrap.
The site says the actor “has met with director Roland Emmerich and is highly regarded on the Fox lot.” Jordan has not received an offer yet and official casting, they say, is not expected to happen until closer to the holidays.
The actor may play the Human Torch in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot as well.
While it is not certain whether Will Smith will return, Emmerich previously said that they had a meeting planned. Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to reprise their roles, however.
