Lexar has been a go to brand in USB flash drives and memory cards for year. The brand goes back to 1996 with it was spun off from Cirrus Logic. The firm owns the very popular JumpDrive trademark for USB flash drives.
Now we have word that its parent company Micron is killing the brand.
Jay Hawkins, consumer products group vice president at Micron Technology, explains in a blog post why.
“The decision was made as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to focus on its increasing opportunities in higher value markets and channels.”
Lexar customer will continue to receive support for the products they have purchased But at this tim there will not be any new Lexar products coming to market.
