Microsoft’s game studios have confirmed they acquired the developer Twisted Pixel of Xbox 360 titles ‘Splosion Man and The Gunstringer.
Twisted Pixel, based in Austin, will join Microsoft Studios to “help incubate and develop the future of game and entertainment offerings on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 platform,” reads a statement announcing the acquisition.
“Twisted Pixel has an incredible track record of innovative, critically acclaimed, and most importantly, fun, games,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, in a statement.
Twisted Pixel is best known for their wonderful platformer ‘Splosion Man, where players navigate the game’s levels by triggering explosions.
The studio recently launched retail game The Gunstringer for the Xbox 360, where players control a skeleton cowboy marionette using Kinect motion controls.
