Microsoft recently confirmed that DOOM I and DOOM II will be part of a pre-order incentive for upcoming title from Bethesda, DOOM, while Dark Souls 3 fans also get the chance to grab the original in the series by grabbing the game early.
The Xbox team look to be powering through a long list of games wanted by fans, confirming this week that two new titles are ready for launch in the BC program.
Xbox’s Larry Hryb revealed that Geometry Wars Evolved is now playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility, it was originally launched on Xbox 360 in November 2005.
Carcassonne, a turn-based strategy title based on a board game, is also playable, its official description reads: “Buy Carcassonne today and become a master of medieval strategy.
“Own a fully featured version of the board game classic and fulfill the need for challenge any time you want, or play socially, with up to five players on Xbox LIVE, or up to four players on just one Xbox 360. Multiple levels of difficulty offer a challenging experience for players of all ages and levels of experience.”
Microsoft have pledged to continue adding new games to the program for some time to come and are hoping to use it to boost the popularity of the console over the rival PS4.
Sony have insisted they will not be copying Microsoft by offering their own BC program, although fans can play past titles by buying from the PlayStation Classics library, or subscribing to the PlayStation Now streaming service.
