Uberproducer Bill Lawrence has successfully lobbied ABC to let The Middle‘s Neil Flynn moonlight on his new Fox comedy Surviving Jack,
On Jack — which stars Law & Order: SVU vet Chris Meloni as a suburban dad who becomes a full-time parent when his wife decides to go to law school — Flynn will appear in one episode playing a high-school wrestling coach who butts heads with Meloni’s title character.
Lawrence and Flynn, of course, worked together for nearly a decade on Scrubs.
Surviving Jack is currently warming Fox’s bench in anticipation of a midseason launch.
