Minecraft will make its long-awaited debut on the Xbox 360 May 9, Microsoft announced.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be featured as part of Microsoft’s spring Xbox Live Arcade lineup, which also includes new titles based on the Peter Molyneux franchise Fable and racing title Trials.
The three-dimensional sandbox title will include a new interface for crafting objects, “natural controller movements,” and a tutorial mode. There’s also online, split-screen multiplayer available. It will sell for 1,600 points ($20).
Starting as an independently developed project from designer Markus “Notch” Persson, Minecraft has turned into a huge hit, spawning the console launch as well as a partnership with toy company Lego.
