Major League Baseball has launched the 2012 edition of its MLB.com At Bat iOS app. and for Android. The title is now universal, supporting both the iPhone and the iPad. The most significant change though is its pricing, as a $15 year-long or $3 annual fee currently only includes audio broadcasts of games, not video.
Getting both audio and video requires an MLB.TV Premium subscription, which costs $120 a year, or $25 a month. At the moment the app is geared only for spring training coverage; the MLB is promising more features in an update before opening day. Aside from broadcasts, the app lets users track news, stats, schedules, and rosters, and video archives organized by players, teams, and keywords.
