Major League Baseball has updated two core iOS apps, At Bat and At the Ballpark. The former has gained universal support for At Bat 13 subscribers, making the service accessible not only on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, but a variety of other supported phones and tablets. Similarly, live audio access is now multi-platform, portable to Mac or Windows as long as a person has an MLB.com account.

The app’s navigation system has been redesigned, and new options allow closed captioning on live video, and more push notification control. A classic games section includes over 60 matches, dating back to 1952. The iPhone interface includes revised news and team pages; the iPad has picked up sortable batting, pitching, and fielding statistics, as well as a new video section with search functions and more highlight clips.

At the Park has been given an overhauled interface and Passbook support for park tickets. Users can manually enter previous park visits dating back to 2005, including photos, and view statistics and video highlights where available. Park and player entrance music has been introduced, as has a social media “clubhouse,” which for some teams includes rewards. When buying tickets the app now shows special discounts for some teams, and ticket upgrades at some parks.
