A sighting of the Explorer Touch Mouse at a UK trade show may be the first time the device was even mentioned in public. Like the Arc Touch Mouse, the Explorer Touch Mouse replaces the scroll wheel found on most mice with a touch-sensitive strip. Unlike the original Explorer Mini Mouse, the Explorer Touch Mouse can be customized for either right-hand or left-hand use and has a total of five programmable buttons.
The Explorer Touch Mouse uses the same Bluetrack laser position-finding system and RF wireless setup as the Touch Mouse. The reciever can be stored in the mouse when not in use.
According to staffer in the booth at the trade show, the Explorer Touch Mouse should be available in the UK in late July and will retail for £70 ($112). Microsoft has not announced when the device would be available in the US or what it would cost
