MSI has introduced two new all-in-one PCs. The Wind Top AE2281 and AE2281G self-contained systems use 21.5-inch displays and are powered by 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processors using 4GB of RAM, upgradable to 8GB. The built-in Smart Media Link lets the systems take advantage of DLNA-supported devices, while the Smart Sync allows cross-platform contact and media synchronization without the need to create a backup.
The AE2281G uses NVIDIA Optimus graphics switching technology, where the system either uses the on-processor graphics core for low-demand visual tasks or the accompanying Nvidia GeForce GT630M discrete graphics for applications needing high-end graphics processing. The automatic switching between the two lets the PC use less power than if it constantly employed the Nvidia GPU. HDMI in and HDMI out allow for further visual expansion.
Both systems house a 500GB hard disk for storage, can use 802.11n Wi-Fi and Ethernet for networking, offer four USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and integrated 3-Watt 5.1 channel THX Trustudio Pro speakers.
MSI has not disclosed a US release date and pricing yet.
