MSI has revealed a gaming notebook with a 1080p 17.3-inch display that it calls the world’s thinnest and lightest. The GS70 weighs 5.7 pounds and measures 0.85 inches thick, and houses a Haswell-based Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M graphics with 2GB GDDR5 memory inside its brush aluminum casing.
One version of the GS70 is fitted with a 128GB mSATA SSD and a 750GB hard disk, while a second version uses two 128GB SSDs in Raid 0 and a 1TB hard drive. Both editions of the notebook will also have Killer E2200 networking and Bluetooth, four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI-out, a 720p webcam, SteelSeries full color backlit keys with anti-ghosting, and a memory card reader.
MSI is selling the 750GB version of the GS70 for $1,800, while the extra storage in the 1TB model brings the total up to $2,000.
