T-Mobile on Monday settled on a launch date and a price for the myTouch 4G Slide. The camera-focused Android 2.3 hardware is now due to ship on July 27 for $200. Pre-orders for the phone start July 19.
The sequel to the 3G Slide mostly focuses on the camera, which at eight megapixels and an f2.2 aperture is both sharp and fast compared to most phone cameras. HTC’s usual Sense UI gets a photography boost with with a fast-starting app as well as continuous shooting, HDR, and sweep-triggered panoramas.
Inside, the leaps are to a much faster dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and 21Mbps HSPA+ data. T-Mobile has the advantage of bundling the phone with Netflix, which still isn’t accessible on most Android phones.
