Music hardware and software maker Native Instruments has brought out the Traktor Kontrol S2, a compact “2+1” setup DJ performance system designed as a compact version of the Kontrol four-deck S4 hardware. The unit features two playback decks along with the sample decks of the latest Traktor Pro 2 software, which adds up to eight simultanous one-shot samples or beat-synced loops. It also sports new, more compact controller hardware and more.
The hardware features high-resolution job wheels and ergonomic controls for cueing and executing effects, output in 24bit, 96kHz sound with dual stereo outputs. Combined with the sample decks, the unit goes beyond the limitations of typical two-deck setups and features from the same bi-directional integration of software and hardware.
The Tracktor Kontrol S2 will be on the market in October with a retail price of $700.
