Debra Messing fans, get excited. NBC has order an additional nine episodes of the actress’s new dramedy Mysteries of Laura. Those nine episodes, plus the show’s original order of 13, give Laura a full 22 episode first season.
“Debra has effortlessly infused Laura with a relatability that is captivating audiences,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “We can’t wait to see how Laura will continue to evolve throughout the entire season.”
Mysteries of Laura is the first new NBC series to receive a full season order this fall. Other fall TV freshmen series that have also been picked up for more episodes include Fox’s Gotham (which, with 22 episodes, will have six more than its originally planned 16), CBS’ Madam Secretary, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion and Stalker, ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder and black-ish, and The CW’s The Flash and Jane the Virgin.
