Netflix has just debuted a creepy poster for its next original series, “Hemlock Grove,” and it promises something quite different from the streaming service’s other offerings.
Following its first original scripted series, “House of Cards,” and ahead of the May arrival of a new season of “Arrested Development,” Netflix is jumping firmly into the horror game with “Hemlock Grove,” which stars Famke Janssen (“X-Men”), Dougray Scott, Bill Skarsgard and Penelope Mitchell.
Based on a novel by Brian McGreevy, the one-hour series gets underway with the murder of a 17-year-old named Brooke Bluebell in a former Pennsylvania steel town. Among the suspects in the killing are a number of Hemlock Grove’s stranger citizens — some of whom may not be all human. And what is the connection to the nearby biotech facility known as the White Tower?
The executive producer on the show is Eli Roth, best known as the director of “Cabin Fever” and “Hostel,” and a fellow who knows a thing or two about horror.
Check out the poster below! As with “House of Cards,” Netflix will make all 13 episodes available all at once, so if you watch the first one and like what you see, you can keep going until the bloody end!
