Netflix has revealed the ensemble cast for its new sci-fi thriller Awake which is currently in production in Toronto.
The story picks up after a sudden global event wipes out all electronics and takes away humankind’s ability to sleep, chaos quickly begins to consume the world.
Only Jill (Gina Rodriguez), an ex-soldier with a troubled past, may hold the key to a cure in the form of her own daughter. The question is, can Jill safely deliver her daughter and save the world before she herself loses her mind?
Ariana Greenblatt (Monster Problems), Frances Fisher (Watchmen), Shamier Anderson (Destroyer), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Lucius Hoyos (Heroes Reborn), Gil Bellows (Patriot), with Barry Pepper (Crawl), and Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) will also star.
Greg Poirier, Joseph Raso, and Mark Raso will write the script, with Mark Raso directing.
