NetGear has released the first dual-core wireless WNDR3700 router with an integrated N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ modem. The so-called Ultimate Home DSL Gateway also sports two USB ports for sharing content from thumb and hard drives across a network. A Gigabit Ethernet input for connecting to cable or fiber networks is present, and 802.11n Wi-Fi is built in with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios.
There is no CD required to install the drivers for the device, and DLNA certification means sharing media is possible between compatible devices. The company’s Live Parental Controls let parents set restrictions for all connected devices. A guest network can be created to let visitors access the web without giving out the home network password or computer access. A usage meter keeps track of monthly data consumption.
The router is now shipping in the US for $200.
