ABC original movie event, the remake of the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, including one showing stars Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Colt Prattes (Mercy) practicing the famous lift. Fans will remember Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey practicing the move in the water, and later talking about how cold it was when they filmed. You can check out the pictures in the slideshow below.
The upcoming three-hour film stars Breslin as Baby Houseman, a young woman on vacation with her family, Prattes as dance instructor Johnny Castle, Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) as Baby’s sister Lisa, Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy) as Baby’s mother, Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) as her father, Nicole Scherzinger (The X Factor) as Penny, another dance instructor, with Debra Messing (Will & Grace) and Billy Dee Williams (Empire Strikes Back). The setting for the event will be a 1960s Catskill Mountains resort, just like the original film.
The movie is directed by Wayne Blair (The Sapphires) and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton). We’re getting songs from the original film as well as new ones.
