Monster Hunter Generations has plenty to offer, with multiple villages that’ll cater to nostalgia and bring all-new content, along with new monsters and fighting styles for hunters. Beyond that, though, it also has the ‘Prowler’ Mode. There’s been some confusion around what this actually is – it’s the ability to play as a Felyne (which naturally handles a lot differently to a hunter – and tackle unique quest lines or even play online. The following is an official description.
New playable Felyne “Prowlers” – Previously only available as custom support AI partners called “Palicoes,” Felynes are now playable in “Prowler” mode with their own questlines and rewards, unique gameplay mechanics and gear.
Some of this mode’s solo quests were also shown this week in a live stream by Capcom UK . It’s an interesting addition, and could potentially add plenty of playtime to what’s already an enormous game. Capcom’s now given the mode its own trailer to show it off, too, which you can see below.
