Newer Technology has announced a new 5TB+5TB capacity for its Guardian Maximus line of dual-bay external storage, adding storage capacity and throughput to any Mac or PC with USB 3.0 eSATA, FireWire 800, or FireWire 400. Plug and Play ready in RAID-1 mode for “mirrored” data across two drives, if one drive fails, the other drive holds all data intact and allows the system to remain functioning. Upon replacing the failed drive, the new one automatically mirrors to provide data redundancy.
The 5TB+5TB model of the Guardian Maximus is priced at $780.
