NBC Sunday Night Football‘s Super Bowl rematch kickoff game drew 23.3 million total viewers and an 8.5 demo rating on Thursday night, down a tick from the preliminary numbers for last year’s Patriots/Steelers match-up.
Last year’s SNF opener went on to record 27.4 mil and a 10.3 in finals, just shy of the record set in 2010 by Saints/Vikings.
Opposite the game, CBS’ Big Brother (5.5 mil/1.7) ticked up a bit week-top-week, while the penultimate episode of The CW’s Beauty and the Beast (710K/0.2) was steady.
