Nintendo will launch a sequel to its hit handheld title New Super Mario Bros. for the 3DS handheld this August.
The title New Super Mario Bros. 2 will feature traditional Mario action, as players move left to right knocking out blocks and scooping up mushrooms while navigating a variety of platforms.
No further details were given.
The New Super Mario Bros. series has been a huge success for Nintendo on both the DS and Wii home console. The Wii version sold 4.2 million copies in 2009 following a November launch that same year.
Nintendo also announced a special compilation for the Wii commemorating the 20th anniversary of its Kirby franchise.
And Nintendo 3DS fans can expect even more Mario starting May 20, when the company launches the sports title Mario Tennis Open.
