Nokia today said it has signed an agreement with Xiaomi that will see the companies collaborate in many different ways.
Nokia will provide Xiaomi with network infrastructure equipment and the companies will work together on optical transport solutions for connecting data centers.
The two plan to explore other business opportunities, such as augmented/virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
Nokia and Xiaomi have also signed a multi-year, cross-licensing patent agreement with respect to standard essential cellular patents. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
