NVIDIA has released a new driver for Quadro 4000 Mac users. The update supports Mac OS X 10.6.7 and supports the 4000’s CUDA architecture with the CUDA 3.2 driver update. The update repairs issues introduced in Apple’s OS 10.6.7 update, released Monday. It is a necessary driver for installing the 4000 in Mac Pro 2010 and 2009 models.
The driver has slightly complicated install requirements. The Mac Pro must be updated to at least Mac OS X 10.6.5, then the driver can be installed. The driver has to be installed prior to the Quadro 4000 hardware install.
The new driver is release version 256.01.00f03v7. It is a 28.7MB download and available free for download. An Intel Xeon processor is required, alongside 2GB of RAM.
