Old Time Hockey is a throw back to 1960 and 70’s hocky. Think of the old senior leagues when the Allen Cup still really meant something, the WHA was a thing, the goal crease was a rectangle and helmets were optional.
Old Time Hockey from Vancouver-based developer V7 Entertainment takes us back to that game.
The game offers a modern control scheme that uses many of the inputs on a gamepad, as well as a simplified two-button setup. There’s one more option that V7 informally calls “Beer Mode,” which allows for one-handed play — the left or right analog stick, plus the corresponding bumper and trigger for shooting, passing and checking.
Old Time Hockey will duck it gloves and along with the puck on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. V7 Entertainment is aiming to release it as a budget-priced title in early 2017.
