General Motors has announced that 14 of its 2010-model-year vehicles are now supported by the OnStar mobile applications. The expanded list includes the Cadillac DTS, Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT; the Buick Enclave and Lucerne; the GMC Acadia, Yukon, and Yukon XL; and the Chevrolet Avalanche, IMpala, Suburban, Tahoe and Traverse.
The company also announced several statistics surrounding the mobile utilities, which are available for Android and iOS devices. The apps have currently reached more than 56,000 active users, with over 1.3 million interactions.
The most popular task is said to be accessing vehicle data such as fuel levels, oil life, scheduled maintenance, and other status information. Remote door lock/unlock functions and remote ignition start are reportedly the second and third most popular functions.
GM also hinted that it is planning to expand the OnStar app functionality with navigation features, though no details have been given.
