Pantech has taken the wraps off its latest Android smartphone, the Vega LTE. The device should keep Pantech on par with brand new LG and Samsung phones by carrying a 4.5-inch, 1280×720 display, on Android 2.3. Along with the 4G data from its name, it will stay on par with a dual-core 1.5GHz chip and 1GB of RAM.
As for storage, the new Vega has 16GB of built-in storage. NFC is present, as is Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, a large 1,860mAh battery and a T-DMB TV tuner for Koreans.
As that last feature suggests, the handset isn’t due for a US release in current form. Rather, it will go on sale in South Korea later in October at SK Telecom. Pantech has lately been getting its devices into the US and might bring the Vega LTE to carriers like AT&T or Verizon in the future.
