Pentax has brought out a special-run DSLR with new optics. The retro looking K-5 Silver Special Edition sports a very thin 40mm, f2.8 XS lens.
The camera itself is almostĀ identical on the inside with the latest firmware preloaded. It can shoot at up to ISO 51,200 sensitivity, at up to seven frames per second, and an 11-point autofocus system. Pentax promises one of the less expensive ruggedized DSLRs with a properly weather-resistant body.
The Silver Special Edition hit retail in April for $1,600. Only 1,500 will be made, and the only source beyond Pentax’s own online store will be Ace Photo.
