The PS4 companion app, while initially due today in Europe, has been pushed back to November 29 – the day of the PS4 launch. Sony needed the extra time to make “some final tweaks to ensure the experience is butter-smooth for you ahead of the PS4 launch next Friday,” the company announced on the PlayStation Blog.
The free app, compatible with both iOS and Android devices, integrates with the PS4 by allowing users to browse their friends lists, Trophies, the PSN store and unlock certain second-screen experiences – like extra in-game content or alternative control options. The app went live in the US two days prior to the PS4.
