Pokémon Sun and Moon will be receiving their own limited edition New Nintendo 3DS XL. The limited edition system will launch alongside Sun and Moon this November, but there’s just one catch: as far as anyone can tell, the 3DS is only for Europe.
With the seventh generation of Pokémon just months away, the hype train has already left the station. Whether you jumped on at last week’s E3 stop or if you’ve been riding it since the trademark applications were uncovered, there’s no question that the Alola region will have a sudden boost in would be Pokémon League Champions this holiday season. The Sun and Moon themed New Nintendo 3DS XL features Solgaleo and Lunala in white on a black background, suddenly making everyone’s standard black New 3DS XL look mediocre.
The announcement was made by Nintendo of Europe through Twitter, leaving many questions unanswered. At the very least, we know the themed New 3DS XL will be coming to Europe. There haven’t been any announcements for a planned bundle in North America as of yet, but the Sun and Moon 3DS coming to Europe is one of two special edition systems launching in Japan. Japan is also getting a yellow Pikachu-themed New 3DS LL model, so there’s always the chance that would be North America’s limited edition system. Pokémon Sun and Moon will launch on 3DS systems worldwide November 18, bringing the beautifully designed New 3DS XL model to Europe in the process.
