Smith Micro has posted a major update for Poser, Service Release 2. Poser is the company’s flagship software, handling 3D rendering and animation of characters and props. SR2 is mostly a troubleshooting release, but improves many different aspects of the program, ranging from rendering, animation, and the Content Library to rigging tools and the Cloth and Face Room.
Only two significant additions have been made. The software now supports a greater array PoserPython Methods, which should enable more connections with third-party products. Smith Micro has also implemented new German and Japanese localizations, though these will only launch mid-May.
The SR2 download is free for existing owners of Poser 9 or Poser Pro 2012. Poser 9 costs $250 new, while Pro 2012 is $500. Access to the update requires a product serial number.
