ABC slipped us the first episode of Castle’s upcoming two-part thriller, and with what we’re able to tell you (of course we’re sworn to secrecy on the best parts) it’s epic. In part one, Kate gets called to what seems to be a run of the mill murder when a dead woman’s body is found in an alley.
After a series of twists and turns, it seems that Caskett may be receiving an unwelcome visit for an old nemesis, namely Dr. Kelly Nieman, and of course if she’s in the picture the her partner the infamous Jerry Tyson, also known as 3XK has to be someplace close by.
As a quick reminder, Tyson first appeared in the Season 3 episode ‘3XK,’ and then seemingly bid this mortal plane “Farewell” in Season 5’s ‘Probable Cause,’ when the psycho plunged off a bridge after Rick shot him several times. The villain’s improbable return was hinted at last season, when a pair of eventual murder victims cosmetically altered to look like Espo and Lanie stole all 3XK files from the 12th’s records room.
There’s a complicated web surrounding the deadly pair and it’s up to Kate and Rick to untangle it, which if previous experience with the sociopathic Romeo and Juliet is anything to go by means that either Castle or Beckett, or both of them are headed for serious danger.
We really love the way the show has handled this ongoing story line. Sometimes a a multi-season arc, can be hard maintain without dragging the rest of the show down or feeling like an afterthought. The writers have managed to keep the tension going and with this episode we’re on the edge of our seats to find out what happens.
