Rachael Taylor has been cast as Trish Walker in Netflix’s original superhero series “Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” which stars Krysten Ritter as the title character. Marvel made the announcement Thursday.
Taylor’s casting news comes just days after Marvel announced that the villain has been cast: “Broadchurch” and “Doctor Who” star David Tennant will play Kilgrave.
Trish Walker (Taylor), the best friend of Jessica (Ritter), is a syndicated radio talk show host, former model and child television star who’s best known to her fans as “Patsy” Walker, based on the Marvel Comics character who appeared under the superhero identity of Hellcat. In the series, Trish will help Jessica embark on the most dangerous case of her career.
The 13-episode series will follow Jessica, after her short-lived and tragically ended superhero stint, as she rebuilds her personal life and detective career, getting pulled into cases involving extraordinary people in New York City.
Taylor previously starred in ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels” and “666 Park Avenue,” and she recurred on “Grey’s Anatomy.”
“Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones” will premiere on Netflix this year.
