Streaming music service Rdio has updated its mobile app to version 2.0. The new version for both iOS and Android completely overhauls the user interface, includes a new navigation bar, implements a remote feature, and adds a unified player to make synchronized play across multiple devices easier.
The latest update includes design elements similar to the Rdio desktop and web experience, which the company describes as “clean and minimal.” The new navigation panel pops open on the left side of the app to bring you to “Your Music,” app settings, playlists, and other features. Additionally, the app will notify you if “Rdio is playing elsewhere.” A station can be paused, skipped, or played from wherever the user is, or “Play Here Instead” can be selected and the mobile device will pick up right where the laptop left off. Additionally, Rdio loads more content as Heavy Rotation, Top Charts, and New Releases are now scrollable.
The app is free on both the Apple App Store and on Google Play. The service remains priced at $15 per month.
