Nintendo announced on Wednesday that its Metroid Prime: Federation Force co-op shooter game for Nintendo 3DS is slated for August 19 in North America and in Europe on September 2. The game was initially slated for this spring.
Additionally, Nintendo delayed the game’s Japanese release date from June to August 25. The company cited “balance adjustments” as the reason for the delay. In addition to the main four-player cooperative gameplay, Metroid Prime: Federation Force will include the multiplayer mini-game Metroid Prime: Blast Ball.
Metroid: Other M, the most recent installment in the series, shipped in 2010 for Nintendo Wii.
