Apple has issued a new version of its Remote app for iOS, 4.0. The release adds support for iTunes 11.1, but more significantly has been given a design overhaul for iOS 7. Changes so far appear mostly cosmetic, including the use of transparencies, new buttons, and an overall “flat” look.
Remote can be used to control music playback on a computer running iTunes, or the entire interface on an Apple TV. The updated app requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 7, but previous versions should still be available for people using iOS 6 or earlier.
