Republic Wireless today said it is launching a new technology called Bonded Calling in order to boost the quality voice calls.
Republic is a WiFi-first carrier in that customers most often connect via WiFi for calls and data and fall back to cellular when WiFi is not available.
Bonded Calling senses when WiFi network conditions are not at their best and intelligently fills the gaps with the cellular data network. Republic claims this redundancy improves conversation quality and extends the range of indoor coverage.
Republic is rolling out Bonded Calling as part of its Adaptive Coverage technology. Customers won’t have to do anything to take advantage of the improved service.
