A report from Eurogamer cites anonymous sources saying that yes, Diablo 3 is, in fact, coming to the Nintendo Switch. We’ve contacted Blizzard for comment and will update if we hear anything back, but don’t expect anything: Blizzard seems to be playing this one close to the chest, either at Nintendo’s behest or of its own volition.
Is it tease? A few days ago, Blizzard had the gaming world particularly interested in a video posted to Twitter of someone plugging in a Diablo-themed nightlight and then…switching it on.

Many took it to be a tease for an upcoming port of Diablo 3 on the Nintendo Switch, speculation that Blizzard quickly tamped down by saying that it had nothing to announce at the time. The video was intended to be a fun — if strange — piece of community engagement, and nothing more. Of course, anyone who follows the video game industry knows that “nothing to announce at this time” is right up there with “doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation” as far as boilerplate PR responses go.
If Blizzard has anything to say in the coming weeks: accelerated marketing schedules mean that games are often announced quite close to their release dates now.
