Spooky Squid Games has announced that their action-arcade game, Russian Subway Dogs, will launch on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4, along with the previously revealed PC version, in 2018.
Russian Subway Dogs takes place across a range of different levels set in the Moscow metro. As the name suggests, players will assume the role of Russian dogs as they attempt to rack up points by doing some rather quirky and comical actions. Much of the gameplay requires the player to think quickly to adjust to the constantly changing variety of enemies and items that flood the screen at any given moment.
Russian Subway Dogs challenges the player to hit every object seen on the screen in order to win. Some actions can be followed up with beneficial situations, such as, feeding pigeons hot sauce so they’ll rain hot fire from the sky. Experimenting with items is key to beating the level and obtaining a high score.
The game features online leaderboards, along with retro pixel art set pieces that are based off of real-life Moscow metro stations. Additionally, there are many different playable characters, from the default Subway Dog and Proletaricat, to a special selection of guest critters including Question Hound from KC Green’s Gunshow, Ratcoon from Ruin of the Reckless, and Nacho & Rad Shiba from VA-11 HALL-A.
Russian Subway Dogs will be playable at PlayStation Experience this year on the show floor at booth #13.
