Samsung and cloud gaming provider Gaikai on Tuesday announced they will team up to bring out the so-called Samsung Cloud Gaming (SCG) service.
Soon, owners of Samsung’s 7000-series and higher 2012 Smart HDTVs will be able to access Gaikai’s cloud-based video games.
Samsung will customize the interface to match the look of its own Smart Hub user interface. The deal reportedly involves Samsung buying bandwidth dedicated to SCG from Gaikai’s 24 data centers, with pricing on a per-device basis. Gaikai will handle overflow traffic.
Samsung will begin looking for beta testers of the service soon.
