Samsung’s Series 3 notebook has quietly shipped out to the US. The core system, the 15.6-inch 300V5A-A03, has turned up at Amazon for about $591. It serves as the baseline with a 2.1GHz Core i3, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive.
Other models are also turning up, including the 14-inch NP300V4A-A01. It carries similar hardware to its larger sibling aside from having a larger 640GB hard drive.
The most distinctive model, the 12-inch NP350U2B, has yet to materialize but is up for pre-order at J&R for $750. While it moves to a smaller size, it gets a faster 2.3GHz Core i5 with the same features as the 15.6-inch Series 3. It also moves to a more refined brushed metal design.
