At the currently ongoing IFA 2011, Samsung said it will begin offering a 3D video-on-demand service in May. It will also include free streaming 3D content that includes IMAX movies only seen on Blu-ray in the past. The service will be restricted to Europe for the time being, however.
It’s the same version of the service that launched in Korea back in March. It will require a connected Samsung Smart TV and the 3D app in question.
When the service will arrive in the US remains to be seen, but it is forthcoming as a global launch is in the plans.
