The Samsung RF4289 refrigerator introduced at this year’s CES was just priced by the electronics giant. When it arrives later this month, the 28-cubic foot fridge will cost $3,500.
Buyers get an embedded 8-inch touchscreen tablet-like device that appears to run a heavily customized Android OS or Samsung’s own software as it connects to Google calendars.
The fridge connects to home networks over Wi-Fi and lets users create sticky notes for the family to see, runs apps that time or instruct on how to cook dishes, or look up recipes. A Twitter app is integrated, as is Pandora for streaming web radio, along with AP News and several other apps that tie into cooking and social networks.
