Sanyo has introduced the VPC-PD2BK, a pocket cam capable of shooting 1080p video at 30fps. The camera also captures 10 megapixel stills. Face detection, 3x optical zoom and digital image stabilization are available in either mode.
Video is recorded in MPEG4/H.264 format, while two microphones capture stereo audio recorded in 48KHz, 16-bit AAC. Users can view videos directly on the 2-inch LCD, or via Mini HDMI connected to an external display.
The PD2 will ship this September with an MSRP of $170. The camera provides an SD/SDHC slot, however the basic model does not include a memory card.
