Amazon Prime Video has premiered the trailer for their upcoming revival of The Tick.
Set in a world where superheroes have been real for decades, The Tick follows an underdog accountant (Griffin Newman) with zero powers who comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead.
As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero (Peter Serafinowicz). Jackie Earle Haley, Valorie Curry, Yara Martinez and Brendan Hines co-star.
Original series creator Ben Edlund is writing the new series and executive producing alongside Patrick Warburton, Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld.
The Tick Takeover at SDCC will be at MLK Promenade (corner of 1st and J streets). The hours will be:
- Thursday, July 20: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Friday, July 21: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Saturday, July 22: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Sunday, July 23: 9:00am – 5:00pm
The Tick SDCC Panel will be on Friday, July 21 from 4:45pm – 5:45pm in the San Diego Convention Center, Room 6A
Ralph Garman will be the Moderator. Planned Panelists are Executive Producer Barry Josephson, David Fury, Executive Producer Ben Edlund, cast members Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Jackie Earle Haley, Valorie Curry, Yara Martinez, Brendan Hines, Scott Speiser and Michael Cerveris
The first season will premiere on August 25th.
