Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Icelandic band Sigur Rós will appear in the upcoming season of “Game of Thrones” in a “top secret role.” Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are reportedly big fans of the group and would often play their music while filming the series in Iceland.
This isn’t the first musical group to appear in the series as members of Snow Patrol and Coldplay have shown up in minor cameos in previous seasons.
Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, “Game of Thrones” is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal.
