Smith Micro today announced the launch of SendStuffNow’s Outlook Plug-in. The secure, cloud-based delivery service now automatically removes and delivers files that are too large to send as email attachments -“ including photos and videos -“ via the cloud. In addition, SendStuffNow allows for the creation and management of shared file links from any PC or mobile device, including iPhones, iPad and Android devices.
Integration within the desktop Outlook client means that users automatically gain the benefit of the cloud-based file delivery workflow without requiring them to learn new tools.
SendStuffNow’s secure file encryption technology ensures each document is protected throughout the entire process, providing safe, secure delivery of files. The service uses an RSA 2048-bit key and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt all communications between the client, server and web browser.
Mobile Tools
SendStuffNow users can track the status of pending file deliveries and create new invitations to allow additional users access to files already uploaded, directly from a iPhone, iPad or Android device. The free mobile application also simplifies sharing videos and photos captured from mobile phones.
SendStuffNow can store and transmit files up to 2GB in size. A central dashboard allows IT managers to delete any uploaded file and rescind invitations on a case-by-case basis. Recipients of files delivered with SendStuffNow simply click on emailed links to download files through a web browser; no account or special software is required. This feature, along with the new Outlook Plug-in, further helps reduce the burden on corporate Exchange servers.
